Los Ochos Rancheros?

I'm overstepping Tim's post because before talking about dates, I wanna bring up something Alfie and I were talking about when we took a run in the Arb yesterday (yay midterm break!):

As much fun as it would be, can we agree that Vegas is out? Let's try Vegas in 5 years when we are all a little more financially secure because, as I told Alfredo yesterday, when I hit up Vegas, I'm gonna wanna go big. And I'm gonna wanna throw some money away, which I don't know if I will have as a college student.

But we were seriously considering the "Mexico Option." Now Alfredo can say more about what it like on the ranch. But I know for sure there are horses. He said activities would be limited, but we could ranchy stuff (read: drunk horse riding). He also said that its about a 2 hour drive to the ocean. Maybe a day trip? The cons are that the plane ticket would be more expensive. I just picture us all dressed up like rancheros, drinking XX and Tequila, all while Tim and Alfredo yell at Nonberg in spanish.

So If I was boiling it down between Mexico and Utah, I would think like this:

The Guzman Ranch
Pros: Free housing, Warmth, Exotic Location, Beach nearby, Horses, intimate setting, small mexican ranch town life?, Mexican FOOD!
Cons: Cost of Ticket, possibly limited activities, maybe not freedom of transportation?, no hot tub

The Nonberg Mountain Hideaway
Pros: Free housing and transportation, Ski opportunities (although like $80 a day, right?),
intimate setting, small ski town life, cook for ourselves, a hot tub, possibility of driving there (road trip?), we can still talk in spanish
Cons: no horses, more expensive once we get there perhaps? the main thing is there is no horses.

Just exploring our options some more.

  2. I really like the idea of the Guzman ranch. For once the white people can do his yard work.

  3. No freedom of transportation? Dude...we'd just ride horses everywhere.

Also, Alfredo, does your family own Ciudad Guzman. That would be sweet.

  6. i will also have you know that Park City is a place where skiing does NOT need to happen. you will have no less fun if you don't ski. that means it will be equally fun regardless. in fact, maybe even more fun if you didnt ski, because you could nurse your hangover all day. it just so happens that there's a few world class ski resorts there.
